It was October 1998 when Oliver and Tanja started their venture “Oliver’s Restaurant” – a vision that both had shared ever since they were very young. Oliver was born into a “Hotel Family” and has always had a great passion for this industry. He finished his 3-year chef apprenticeship in his hometown of Villach in Austria.
Tanja, a first generation South African, attended a Hotel and Tourism College in Salzburg / Austria and after finishing this they both set off to gain experience in Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Australia.
On the 17th of April 2001, they started with the building of Oliver's. On 1st December 2001 they finally opened their doors and with full support from the locals in particular, and other wonderful guests, have grown from strength to strength.
Oliver's is one of the better golf lodges in South Africa. Chose from White River Golf Course or any of the other nearby colf courses including Hans Merensky, Leopard Creek and Sabi River Golf Course. There are plenty of other entertainment options too. Oliver's is a wonderful place to spend those tranquil evenings after a round of golf at White River Golf Course - one of the leading golf lodges in South Africa.
Oliver is very hands on in the kitchen and Tanja adds a feminine touch to the suites. Their philosophy is to extend a warm welcome to anybody entering their little haven and to let them unwind in a peaceful and tranquil setting, spoil them with mouth-watering dishes together with professional, personalised and friendly service. “A home away from home atmosphere with Austrian Gemütlichkeit!”
